Automatic Translation
By using automatic translation to pre-genarate English indexes for metadata of Japanese articles (such as titles, authors, abstracts, etc.) included in CiNii Research, we have significantly improved the opportunities for discovering Japanese articles through English keywords (the number of search results has increased by approximately 1.5 times). Additionally, the list of papers displayed in the search results is shown in English, including Japanese articles. This enables users who were previously unable to use CiNii Research due to a lack of Japanese proficiency to search for Japanese papers using English keywords.

- The parts labeled "(Translated by MT)" are English texts generated by machine translation.
- Since the translation results are displayed as-is, there may be mistranslations or unnatural English expressions.
- This trial service targets papers available as of June 2023, so the results may differ from the latest CiNii Research search results.
- In 2024, only English is supported. The machine translation engine used for English translation was developed by the National Institute of Information and Communications Technology (NICT) for academic literature.
- Papers targeted for the creation of English indexes were selected based on the condition that neither their title nor abstract contains English. Therefore, some parts of the search results or landing pages may remain untranslated in Japanese.
